A single figure in pink stands waist-deep in tea, the forest rising behind her into mist. On the Haldummulla Estate, an organic tea plantation in the hills above Idalgashinna in Sri Lanka, the freshest leaves are still plucked by hand.
The work is slow and skilled, and it shapes the people who do it. This documentary photography stays close to them and to the crop, in muted colour broken by flashes of pink and blue against the green.
