Haze hangs between mossy trees in the Quantock Hills, and Fiona Pascall runs through it, a small dog at her heels. From the Somerset woods, this trail running campaign for adidas TERREX heads west to the North Devon coast, where cliff, storm cloud and open sea show the scale of the ground the British ultrarunner trains on.

It is bitterly cold and the race kit is thin. Blur carries the pace, and the Agravic Speed Ultra 2 stays close to the ground, on moss and mud, over rock and along the coast path.
